Forgotten Passcode
Hidden Room has no passcode reset, email recovery, account recovery, or support override. This is intentional because the developer does not possess the keys needed to open the vault. If the passcode is lost, support cannot recover the contacts.
Face ID Is Unavailable
Use the six-digit Hidden Room passcode. If Face ID enrollment changed, Hidden Room disables Face ID and requires the vault passcode. You can enable Face ID again from Settings after unlocking.
Repeated Wrong Passcodes
Waiting times increase after repeated failures. Wrong-passcode erase is optional and starts Off. If you enabled a 5, 10, or 20-attempt limit, reaching that limit permanently erases the vault. Face ID failures do not count.
Automatic Contact Deletion
Automatic expiry is optional and starts Off. If enabled, it can be set to 1 day, 3 days, 1 month, or 1 year without a successful unlock. When an expiry is due, Face ID falls back to the passcode. The next correct passcode destroys the old vault and creates an empty replacement. The app cannot perform deletion while it is fully terminated.
Copy, Calls, Messages, and Websites
In iOS version 1.2.17 and later, swipe right across a masked field to copy it. Copying is available by default in an unlocked vault. Earlier versions require enabling Allow Sharing in Settings first. Copied values expire from the local iOS pasteboard after 30 seconds and clear if unchanged when Hidden Room locks, but another app may read or retain them first.
External sharing starts Off. Enable Allow Sharing only when you need calls, messages, email, websites, or messenger destinations and accept that the selected information leaves Hidden Room's protection. Hidden Room asks for confirmation and locks before each external handoff.
Screen Capture Protection
Hidden Room conceals contact details during detected recording or mirroring and locks after iOS reports a screenshot. iOS reports a still screenshot after creating it, so the app cannot retract the screenshot from Photos.
Emergency Erase
Emergency Erase permanently resets the vault after a deliberate hold and confirmation. It cannot remove copies, messages, call history, screenshots, exports, or information held by other apps and people.
Before Contacting Support
- Include the Hidden Room version and iOS version.
- Describe what you expected and what happened.
- Say whether the issue happens every time or only occasionally.
- Remove names, phone numbers, addresses, messaging IDs, passcodes, and other private information.
